Fostering kittens is one of the most powerful ways to help save vulnerable lives in Cape Town. Kitten Clinic relies on foster homes to care for orphaned, neonatal, and medically fragile kittens who are too young or too vulnerable to stay in a shelter environment.
By opening your home, you provide a safe, loving space where kittens can grow, heal, and learn how to trust humans — all while preparing for adoption into their forever homes.
Many of the kittens and cats we rescue require far more than food and shelter. They may need around-the-clock bottle feeding, medication, rehabilitation, socialisation, behavioural support, or simply a quiet, safe environment where they can recover.
As a Kitten Clinic foster carer, you’ll never be on your own. Our experienced team—including a qualified Animal Health Technician and a qualified Animal Behaviourist—provides ongoing guidance, training, and support throughout your fostering journey. Where possible, we also assist with supplies and coordinate all veterinary care.
Whether you’re caring for a day-old orphaned kitten requiring intensive neonatal care or helping a recovering cat regain their confidence, you’ll play a vital role in giving every animal the best possible chance at a healthy, happy future.

Without foster homes, many rescued kittens would not survive. Every foster placement frees up space for another kitten in need and gives vulnerable animals the chance to grow strong enough for adoption.
